Author Lisa Sabin-Wilson sent me this photo below to congratulate iThemes on being included in the second edition of her WordPress for Dummies book. (As you can tell from the photo, iThemes is mentioned on page 244.)
I’ve long been a For Dummies fan (and probably own 5 of them), and to be included in this edition is an amazing honor and validation of the hard work our team has put in over the last year.
Our small team of four all use personally and love WordPress. We’re passionate about it. And most of us would probably still develop in WordPress even if we didn’t receive a full-time salary from it.
Our two rockstar developers – Nathan Rice and Chris Jean – have released numerous free plugins and themes for the WordPress on their own time and I’ve done over 30 free themes myself.
But I was especially excited to see the screenshot of the iThemes site include FlexxTheme — our pride and joy, which all of us had some hand in developing (this ain’t no one-man shop!). FlexxTheme as well as Titanium, which is also included in the screenshot, were designed by our creative architect James Dalman, who left a successful freelance design business to join iThemes.
All this to say … iThemes is here to stay. We’re still committed to doing what we set out to do in January 2008, when we launched, and that’s to build the best, easy-to-use WordPress themes on the planet. If you look at our Theme Store, the bulk of our themes are CMS-type themes, designed so others can easily build affordable WordPress websites and leverage WP as a powerful, flexible content management system.
