Welcome our newest team member – Nina East!
Nina East, a member of our community ever since she started blogging, has joined us in the role of Marketing Director. That’s a fancy way of saying she’s going to help us spread the word about iThemes, PluginBuddy and WebDesign.com, make sure our affiliates have the support they need, and help me keep track of everything I need to keep track of (otherwise known as “Cory wrangling”).
From the first conversation I had with Nina she was offering suggestions and ways to improve what we do and how we do it. In fact she only officially started working a couple days ago and she’s already making a difference. (You should see the list of ideas and instructions she’s already given us!)
One of the things I really like about Nina is that because she’s a customer, just like you, she understands how what we do, and how we communicate about it, affects you.
She also has a real service-orientation and community-focused approach, which is a perfect match for us. Several of us had the chance to meet Nina at WordCamp Raleigh last May and have really appreciated how she has participates in the community, welcomes newcomers, and brings a lighthearted, yet still serious, attitude to everything she does.
Initially Nina will focus most of her attention on upgrading and streamlining the affiliate programs and providing stellar support to our affiliates. She’s already working on creating “done for you” marketing to help affiliates make more money with less effort. If you are one of our affiliates, you’ll start hearing from her soon. If you’re not one of our affiliates – why not?!
We’ll be making some changes to the affiliate programs soon so be on the lookout for more information. You’ll want to attend the Affiliate Webinar coming up on Nov. 12th at 1pm Central Time.
On the personal side, Nina lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with her very spoiled dog Scout and her 19 1/2 year old cat, Little Moon. People who know Nina describe her as an enigma because she pretty much defies convention. She’s a motorcyclist (yes, she’s a Harley rider), former skydiver, and a former dean of students at a university (which makes her the perfect person to handle being part of this team!). She’s a tough woman, but also one who loves the color pink, takes great care not to break a fingernail and will squeal if a mouse runs through the room.
In addition to her web design business and her role with us, she runs her own membership site providing self-help book summaries to women (PersonalGrowthPrincess.com) and coaches small online business owners with their own marketing.
Please help us welcome Nina to the team!
