By default, iThemes Builder ships with four layouts. You might choose to either use some of these or create your own. All these layouts’ widget areas will be visible when you go to Appearance -> Widgets. This makes it difficult to drag a widget into your desired widget area since the page becomes long and it’s not easy to scroll vertically when your mouse is held down with the widget that you want to drag and drop.
Therefore it makes sense to hide the widget areas of all layouts other than the one that is currently being worked on. To do this, just hover your mouse on ‘No’ under the 3rd column titled ‘Hide Widget Areas’ and click ‘Hide widget areas’.
For example, the screenshot below shows that widget areas of all layouts other than the “Default” one are hidden since we want to populate that particular layout’s widget areas at Appearance -> Widgets.
Now when we go to Appearance -> Widgets, it is much more manageable.
Builder Tip – Enable Google Analytics Easily

Here are the steps:
- Log into your google account at https://www.google.com/analytics. Add a new website profile, enter your site’s domain name which you want to add analytics to
- Copy the value of Web Property ID
- Place a tick mark next to Enable Google Analytics. Paste the Web Property ID that you copied from Google Analytics
- Scroll down and click Save Settings.
