Startup Weekend is an intense 54-hour event providing networking, resources, and incentives to help teams and individuals go from business idea to business launch. Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, Startup Weekend is all about building communities as a way to facilitate starting sustainable businesses. The tagline “No Talk. All Action” is very telling.
Cory Miller, founder of iThemes, is an avid supporter of entrepreneurship, as evidenced by the focus of the three divisions of iThemes, as well as his own startup project, StartupSofa.com.
iThemes is an official sponsor of this weekend’s Startup Weekend (Feb. 11-13) at Oklahoma University; and Cory, himself, is a mentor.
Since Startup Weekend is all about speed, and WordPress is a great, speedy option for building a website, this is a perfect match. In addition to serving as a mentor, Cory is sponsoring the event in other ways.
The local iThemes team will be on hand Sunday for weekend participants to ask questions and receive guidance about building effective websites using the latest, fastest and best technology. In addition, the iThemes family of companies is providing the Web Designer’s Toolkit to registered workshop participants, to equip them with the tools they need to make sure they don’t just talk, but take effective action with their websites.
