Replying to Max Size Backup

Hi Rick,

It is a bit unlikely. Command line zip is pretty good for using BackupBuddy and technically listed as a requirement. Pclzip is offered as a worst case scenario to try and help. We cannot guarantee that it will handle that large of a site as the server does not meet the official minimum requirements. It may still work but even if so it would likely require some tweaking to work under those circumstances.

This is the php max exec time:

Will this be okay to run 1GB+ backups (for example to dropbox)? If not dropbox, than perhaps FTP or Amazon

There isn't a test version of BackupBuddy though there is the ServerBuddy free plugin to help check some of the basic server configurations.

BackupBuddy can and has backed up sites that are 1GB+.

BackupBuddy itself has no limits to the sizes but it all depends on host's servers what can actually be done within PHP. If host has bad/overloaded servers that are slow then it may not be able to get done before the configured max PHP runtime is met and then the process gets halted. Or host could have the max PHP runtime set really low (lower than should be expected) and then it just doesn't have much time at all to backup an entire site. These kinds of server configurations to watch out for with a host are things that can affect anything using PHP.

I've tested some back-up plugins in the past few weeks en none of those meet my needs..
Some site's I need to backup are 1GB in total (core files / uploads (most of it) etc..).

Is it possible with backup buddy to backup files up to 1GB?
I need to be sure, because there isn't a test version / trial version?
