Replying to Backupbuddy 2 Sites Development And Production

BackupBuddy can be used to migrate a development site to where a production site is, a BackupBuddy backup is essentially a copy of the site you are creating a copy of and when migrating with that backup to a new location it puts a copy of the site as it was in the backup at the new location. So if the preserver user's data you are mentioning is for the live site that isn't part of a development site, then no. Migrating would make a copy of the dev site as it was when the backup was made.

BackupBuddy (standalone sites, non-multisite) will put copies of the WordPress files from the backed up site so it essentially will install at the new site the same WordPress (including modified files) that the dev site had. Can also exclude directories from being backed up if you want, such as if there are some plugins you are not wanting to migrate I guess.

BackupBuddy can't "merge" two sites, it is a replacement migration if migrating where another site already is (as in part of the migration process if a WordPress site is already at the destination location is to remove that current WordPress installation before migrating there).

I need to use something like BackupBuddy to move a WP site plus some plugins from Development to Production servers and preserving the User's data and for backup too.

The 2 sites license will impose some sort of restriction on the numbers of licenses when moving from sub-domain to main domain? Or between 2 different domains?

If the current theme or core WP functions were modified will it to make any attempt to install a most WP recent version?
