mapafish, I ended up just using Gravity Forms with Stripe GF would handle recurring payments (subscriptions) with PayPal too.

Any updates to this? I need to setup recurring payments for services and have a welcome letter with instruction letter sent to the customer upon payment.

Hi Alex!

Would you be willing to share how you eventually configured Exchange for selling services?  I'm trying to get that set up for my business too.

Thanks!

Hi Alex,

I'm not sure what you mean when you say they are "instructed to 'download.'"

There isn't anything that specifically instructs them to download a file.  There is a link included on the confirmation page for their downloads area, but that is there even if they purchase a physical product.  Is that what you mean?

You can remove the links by customizing the header.php file in /lib/templates/content-confirmation/loops/.  If you remove 'menu' from the array on line 18, it will remove the entire menu from confirmation page.

You won't want to edit the file directly, instead, you'll copy the file and upload it to your 'exchange' directory in your theme.  You can read more about how to do that here:  How Do I Edit My Template Files

Let us know if you have any additional questions of if this wasn't what you were asking about.

Thanks,

Elise

Man, I'm asking all kinds of questions this week. I want Ithemes exchange to be a part of the way I do business going forward. I think it can be done, but I do have another hurdle to address.

I want to be able to sell virtual products/services such as consulting or similar. No downloads are required. They purchase and perhaps get a specific notification at for their specific purchase.

I am not sure how to go about this. I thought simple product would be the way to do it. But that seems like it still considers downloadable products. Based on a transaction I did. Once completed by the user, they are taken to a certain page and instructed to 'download' a product which doesn't apply here.

Thoughts?
