Hey Doug,

You were pretty close... try this instead:

remove_submenu_page( 'it-exchange', 'it-exchange-settings' );

I'm customizing a role for our client and simplifying the admin area by hiding certain admin menus. I'm trying to hide the Exchange Settings sub menu and not having success. I'm trying this by using a combination of...

http://justintadlock.com/archives/2011/06/13/removing-menu-pages-from-the-wordpress-admin
http://www.wpmayor.com/how-to-remove-menu-items-in-admin-depending-on-user-role/

Here is the code I am trying:
// CUSTOMIZE ADMIN MENU BY USER ROLE
add_action( 'admin_menu', 'my_remove_menu_pages', 999 );
function my_remove_menu_pages() {
	global $user_ID;
	if ( current_user_can( 'manager' ) ) {
remove_menu_page( 'tools.php' );
remove_menu_page( 'slidedeck2.php' );
remove_menu_page( 'plugins.php' );
remove_submenu_page( 'admin.php', 'it-exchange-settings' );
	}
}

This isn't hiding that part of the menu. Thanks in advance for the help.
