Hi Jim

BackupBuddy is for backup/restore/migrate of existing WordPress sites.

From what I understand you have a site that has been created by some site building tool (but not a WordPress site) and you wish to "recreate" that site in WordPress?

Assuming my understanding is correct then this is not something that BackupBuddy is intended to be used for and it does not have this sort of functionality. As far as I know there are not any tools that will take such a site and automatically convert into a WordPress site (there may be some but I have never come across any). Perhaps your host did not understand the nature of your request/question.

Just FYI, this particular forum is not intended as an iThemes Pre-Sales forum but more for questions concerning hosting in general that may be responded to by the crew at Site5 (as per the informational topic at the head of the forum). Whilst iThemes Staff _may_ respond to topics posted here it should be that if you have any further questions now or in the future concerning iThemes products then you can use the Pre-Sales forum here: Pre-sales and other inquiries - iThemes Community WordPress Forum

Thanks for your enquiry and I hope you are able to find a product that can do what you require. You may of course find that iThemes products may be suitable for your requirements in building your WordPress site and if you do have queries related to that then the Pre-Sales Forum is where to head, thanks.

I wish to make a charity website more accessible by migrating to Wordpress to gain the CMS features.

I currently use Sandvox but this has limitations for multi authorised access.

The current website is a subdomain of another and I wish to set it up as a separate entity. My host Virtual Names in the UK have suggested I use BackupBuddy to migrate the site over to Wp.

Will BB do this?
