Hi There-

Two questions on your "Life" Theme Series (http://life.ithemes.com/grunge/)

1) It seems the theme is designed for WordPress 2.7 -- do you support 3.1.X?

2) The demo page (http://life.ithemes.com/grunge/) contains the following error message.

"Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in /home/cmill303/public_html/life/grunge/wp-settings.php on line 18"

clearly, this is not desirable functionality out of the box -- is this something that will be / has been fixed?

-Tom

Hi,

this is an issue with an older version of WordPress running on the demo site (and wp-settings.php is a core WordPress file, not theme code). While we speak, we are working on getting new theme demos up, with the most recent WordPress version, and theme versions.

apologies for the confusion,
Ronald

thanks for the reply

1) regarding your first answer, are you saying that the theme download itself is different code than what is on the demo site?

2) does the current downloadable theme support WordPress 3.1.X? The demo site says 2.7

hi,

1. most likely. Unlike our theme demos, which are really only intended to show what the theme, and various pages in the theme look like, our themes get regular updates to keep them up to pace. Theme version of the demo site: 1.0.4 (March 2008), current version 1.2.21 (Sept. 2010). The theme is still on the list to undergo maintenance to implement WordPress 3 navigation menus.

2. See 1.

Exactly for this reason we are setting up a single multisite installation for all our theme demos, which will make it easier to maintain and update all theme demos. Currently, each theme demo is a separate WordPress installation, and we realise that this makes it hard to maintain and update.

hope that clarifies,

Ronald

Thank you for clarifying everything. When do you think the update will be ready? Several days, weeks, or months?

Hi,

I'll be able to move it up the list, and will try to get it done by the end of this month.
