Updating WordPress with Notepad Theme

I'm using the Notepad Theme for my business site, and I would like to update WordPress. However, I have made several changes to the code.

If I update WordPress will all my changes be lost?

Hi,

updating WordPress will NOT make any changes to your theme files. The wp-content folder (that contains plugins and themes) will not be affected.

It is always a good idea to make sure you have a recent backup though, just in case.
