Hi Ronen, :)

Welcome to the forums! For the backup side, yes, BackupBuddy works on WordPress Multisites [I use it to backup both the db's and full files backup daily on 2 Multisite networks, each with several sites]. It will backup everything [all tables and all directories, including all the blog.dir/xx directories] when enabled on the top domain. Restoring requires some extra work as mentioned in the other forums; if you search the other threads it can give you a good idea as to whether you should use it right away in its current form or wait for future updates which should have more reliable restoration steps.

Also, a new BackupBuddy MS plugin is currently being developed [already out in beta and works perfectly] which also allows you to import single sites into existing Multisites easily with only a few clicks and absolutely no extra setup from your end.

If you've any other questions please let us know!

Regards,

Bes

Just a point of clarification - as per the product informationBackupBuddy : PluginBuddy | WordPress PluginsFrequently Asked Questions - WordPress MU and Multisite are not officially supported however there are Customers who do use it in those environments and have reported it fulfils their needs. Consequently whilst we cannot currently offer specific support for Multisite installations we will endeavour to assist you as time and support load allows and of course as the support forums are open forums (to Members) you may also receive help and advise from other Customers using BackupBuddy in such environments - the Community aspect of Support :-)

This is Great To Know!

I'll install it and see how things go. By the way there is this new mode of backup that just doesn't work for me - were can I find information about it?

Hi Ronen,

please use the BackupBuddy tech support forum for any specific (non pre-sales) questions and issues related to (the use of) BackupBuddy. You can find information, and links to other and more detailed resources on the BackupBuddy product page.
