I was prompted to update the Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades Plugin and got the following error message:

Unpacking the update…
The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
I tried to update both through "updates" in the dashboard and through "plugins".

Thanks for posting this. Hmmmm, could you try upgrading the plugin manually please from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/ ?
Also, what new version number does your updater show (or is trying to upgrade to)?

also, this codex article may apply as well, it is most likely an issue with the downloaded zip file, not so much with the plugin
