Hi there! I'm wondering whether it is possible to use a free itheme to create a website that has user profiles (where a user will log in, be able to setup a profile page, and take actions on the site that can be attributed to his or her account)?

Hi,

regardless of the theme, this is standard WordPress functionality (add an editor, or contributor) and you can create an author page using the author.php page template to setup a profile page.

So yes, it is possible,
