Dear everyone.
Am looking how to make a certain page only accesable to members. Here members could dowload a few pdf's. Is this where the tailorplugin comes in handy or do you use a different plugin?
Help me find a good solution

Thanks

Brent

Hi Brent, :)

Thanks for posting this. TailoredLogin allows you to customize the login page: http://pluginbuddy.com/purchase/tailoredlogin/

If you're wanting something like a membership area, I think what you're looking for is something like http://www.amember.com/

Others can hopefully chime in with recommendations.

Regards,

Bes

Hi,

aMember is a standalone application, it might be better to look for a members WordPress plugin, or browse these. Plugins come in all sizes, complexities and prices (from free to premium),

just my $0.02 :)

Will there be a tailored "members area" available within builder in the near future or will I have to depend on the plugins?
[where is the roadmap?]

Hi,

Builder is a WordPress theme and theme framework. It will not contain any specific functionality on it's own. In general, and in WordPress, plugins are designed to add functionality to WordPress sites, themes are designed to add the looks and layout. So in that sense, membership functionality will not become part of Builder. For Builder, we have released Builder Blocks (restaurant and church), in essence plugins that will extend functionality in conjunction with a Builder Childtheme, and we've just released e-commerce enable child themes (depending on 3rd party plugins). So rather than reinventing the wheel, Builder will try to be a framework that can be used to build your site and we're contantly developing and improving Builder to make it do that better and faster. There are excellent (membership, e-commerce, etc) plugins available, trying to develop these ourselves and integrate them into Builder is not on the roadmap.

hope that clarifies,
Ronald
