My host company uses Siteworx from Interworx as their domain manager. It's different from Cpanel which I've used in the past. If I purchase Backup Buddy, will it work with this hosting software?

BackupBuddy is installed and runs as a standard plugin within WordPress so is not dependent in any way on whatever control panel a host may be using. Many people run their sites on servers with no control panel at all, including on private desktop servers used for development purposes.

Thanks for the info, Jeremy. I notice you have a new eDocument about getting started with this, so I'll read that and get more info.
