I am interested in purchasing Backup Buddy for 10 sites. I have shared hosting, with only my primary domain installed in the root. I then have 5 add-on domains installed (not in the root). First, can Backup Buddy back up my add-on domains? If yes, then does this mean I am backing up a total of 6 sites?
Second, I have heard that this plugin is cumbersome and can be demanding of my host's resources. Can you comment on this.
Third, if I purchase the current version of BackupBuddy will version 3.0 be included in the cost or must I pay extra?
Many thanks for your response,

1. By default BackupBuddy will try to backup absolutely everything it can on the site (including non-WordPress files). So if you create a backup on the primary domain it will also backup the 5 add-ons which means yes it will be backing up 6 sites at once. That setup can be too much for some servers to handle 6 sites at once and will time out (due to host's configured PHP max execution time, BackupBuddy has no limits and will do what it can), so the recommended setup for multiple sites like that is to have BackupBuddy installed on each of them and on the primary one to have the addon-domains excluded from being backed up (so they can be done seperately).
2. Well, it is backing up the entirety (minus backup exclusions) of the site so there is expected to be some working during a backup. When it isn't backing up though it isn't doing anything so wouldn't expect it be taking up a lot of resources then. I haven't had any issues with it being cumbersome or taking up too many resources.
3. BackupBuddy 3.0 is an update to the current version of BackupBuddy (2.x) so if you have an active license then yes you can update to 3.0 when it is released.
