Hi Fred

Thanks for your enquiry concerning BackupBuddy.

BackupBuddy is not in itself a Mac application and so from that point of view the question of compatibility does not arise.

You interface with BackupBuddy through standard WordPress admin login the same as any other component of WordPress with a management aspect and thus if you have any particular browser problems with the browser(s) that you use then they may impact your enjoyment of BackupBuddy (some people find that Chrome can give issues in general, not specifically with BackupBuddy). There are no known issues with any particular browser.

If you require to use BackupBuddy in a local development environment then it is subject to the same server requirements as indicated on the Product Information page under the FAQ section as any other hosting environment and you would need to ensure your local development environment was suitably configured to run the WordPress application and your intended development sites. Please note that due to the uncontrolled nature of local development environments, the variability due to how these are setup and managed, and the fact that they cannot be externally accessed we can only provide limited support for BackupBuddy in such environments - if you have any problems we will try and identify what may be happening and suggest how you might investigate and diagnose but you are expected to be familiar with and know how to manage and troubleshoot problems in your own hosting environment.

I personally run BackupBuddy in such an environment under Lion (10.7.4) without any issues.

Regards...jeremy
