I tried going to: trials.ithemes.com and worked with your architect theme. I like it very much but I had trouble with the following:

1. I wanted an area above the nav bar that replaces the header that could be substituted with a picture and have a widget area on the right for a purchase button. The area should not exceed 45 px in height. I tried to upload a picture that was about  300 px Wide by 40 px in Height. Two issued that I had with loading it. First, it would not load a picture, even though it was only 47 kb and in .jpg format. It would not load and kept asking me for a picture next time I logged in to the layout > modify picture area.

Next, I tried modifying the height of the picture and changed the settings from automatic to manual. I put 50 px and it kept asking me for an integer number. It would not work on manual.  I could not load any pictures and the area was being forced to remain at 150 px in height. Is there a way to load a picture before the nav bar? Does the photograph need to be a certain width? What is the best format to use? (I could not load any pictures even to the text area, so this issue could be host related)

2) Where can you change the color of the nav bar?

3) Do all the child themes work on all browsers, smart phones and tablets such as iPads? Have they been tried and tested?

4)  Do all the child themes work with W3 Cache?

5) If I use php and include it on the header or footer editing section provided within Builder, will it remain there when you upgrade or change to another theme, without loosing your hook?

Thank you,

Hi Mario,

I've got some answers for you!
  • Since this is a trial version, and not one on your actual site, it's not saving the image to any database which is why you're asked for a new one every time you go into modify that particular module.  When you are entering the height you want, are you entering "50px" or just "50"?  You don't need to add the "px" and that will cause it to ask you for an integer.  Adding the image module like you were is the best way to have an image before the navigation.  The width of the image is going to depend on the width of your layout.  So, if your layout is 960px, I'd have my image about that wide.  As for format, jpg or png should work just fine.
  • To change the color of your navigation, you'll have to change the CSS.  The Builder Style Manager comes with your purchase of Builder and the Architect theme and that should help you change that.
  • All of the themes work on all browsers, smart phones and tablets and they have been tested.
  • There shouldn't be any conflict with the W3 Cache plugin.
  • That is stored in your database typically, so updating or changing your themes shouldn't have any effect.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Thanks,

Elise
