Are "Slideshow" and "Slides" the same plugin?
If not, please list one or more key differences. Thanks.
(I reviewed the product info and live demos of both. I watched the video for "Slideshow". Maybe it's me, but I still don't understand what distinguishes one from the other.)

you also have another post on this, and since you already have the plugins, this is hardly a pre-sales question. You will see the difference when you install and activate the plugins, and check the differences in the back-end (your wp-dashboard). That is where the main differences are. Slides allows you to add content, not just images, to a number of predesigned layouts, slideshow is an image slideshow with 2 different slide effects,
