Hi,

I have sold a domain and transfered a domain name to someone else. The Wordpress website and database that was running on that domain is still in the same directory as before. But not running because it dose not have a domain anymore.

I would like to backup and move this website and database to another domain. Is it possible for BackupBuddy to backup and transfer/ restore a website that dose not have a domain at this moment. The location where is will be placed afterwards will have a domain.

Hi Chaq

As with any WordPress plugin, BackupBuddy can only be used in the context of a fully operational WordPress site. As you have indicated that you cannot access the site as a functional WordPress site then you will not be able to use BackupBuddy to make a backup of this site.

Thats' not to say it's not possible to achieve what you want to achieve using your server tools and tools provided as part of the BackupBuddy package but it's not a standard backup/migrate process or an officially supported process so you'd have to be happy with using things like phpMyAdmin, editing files, etc. as we could only give you general guidelines and the ultimate responsibility would lie with yourself, thanks.
