Hello - am thinking of purchasing LoopBuddy, but I'd like to know if it will work on a custom loop file my theme uses. For instance, I have a theme that contains a custom loop file which controls the 'portfolio' custom post taxonomy query and page display. Will any specs I make in LoopBuddy automatically be applied here, in addition to the default loop file? If not, would I be able to add some 'LoopBuddy custom code' to the custom loop file to get LoopBuddy to work on that loop file? Thanks!
Does Loopbuddy Work With A Theme's Custom Loop Files?

Hello Laura,
Thanks for your interest in LoopBuddy
!
LoopBuddy will work if your theme supports the Loop Standard. If it doesn't, it can be modified to use it. However this type of modification is beyond the scope of our support. Depending on your theme we may have some documentation to steer you in the right direction.
You should be able to use LoopBuddy in a widget area regardless of your theme.
Here's a link to our full LoopBuddy Codex with detailed information.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Gerroald
