Is there any way to select a wider width for each layout in the theme Essence? Or would this require many manual changes to the CSS for each page layout? I specifically was looking for a theme with a 960 width and this appears to be less than that, perhaps 780.

Hi,
this would require manual changes, with the proper knowledge of css, php and html, it can be done though,

Sure you can, I use the Dark Essence theme with 4 bottom widgets and a total width of around 1100px.
It does require some changes to the css file and one php file (the banner image size is hard coded).
