I have two question regarding backup buddy.

1) We recently launched a membership website. We would like to do hourly backups. During the backup process will the table be locked? I'm worried while the site is being backed up users won't be able to register and it will cause an error.

2) How much will it slow our wordpress site?

Hi Jordan,

1. Tables are not locked due to issues such as this so it will not impede site functionality.

2. Depends on the servers/host, backing up a site does take resources due to the nature of backing up an entire site. Though normally it should not be visible from the user perspective. Depends on the site size of course too as that determines the length of "impact" time if any. If these hourly backups are database-only backups, that takes less resources (uses mysqldump via command line if available).
