I was considering buying a license for BackupBuddy, but my site is on Dreamhost, and I read that there are some issues with compatibility.

In another thread on this topic, the forum admin refers another DH user to a BackupBuddy support forum which seems to no longer exist.

So, my question is can I use BackupBuddy with a DH site, and, if so, what kind of support can I expect to receive if I run into difficulties or errors during use?

Hi Frank,

BackupBuddy can work on Dreamhost, but everything regardless of host, comes down to the host's server configurations. Every server is going to have max PHP runtimes and maybe actual limits set by the host. So it's always a question if the server configurations are too strict for a site of whatever size yours is.

Welcome to the forums. Be sure to post your questions in the correct forum and don't forget about the new and improved search function located in the top right of the forum pages. The gear/wheel symbol next to the search box will give you more options for advanced searching. Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi, speaking for DreamHost, we have a lot of people who use BackupBuddy here on our servers. The only issue I've run into was someone with a backup bigger than our temp disk space, but that's pretty easy for us to fix :)
