Display Inventory To Purchaser

I have enabled Inventory Tracking for a product.

But how do I display the current inventory level to the customer before they purchase to prevent them buying a product that is out of stock?

Hi Aplus,

When a product is out of stock, Exchange will not allow the customer to purchase.  Instead of the Buy Now button, they'll see a message that the product is out of stock.

OK - as a dev idea going forward the ability to see (as on ebay) 27 sold 48 available (or whatever) can be very beneficial.....

In order to show the current inventory, you will need to add the inventory call to you custom templates.

it_exchange( 'product', 'inventory' );

This will echo the number of products left in stock.

I'm setting up a store for an artist. She's selling unique products which have offcourse an inventory of only 1. She wants all the products to stay in the store (to show her work) but once sold with an indication of "sold". It's not very user friendly to need to view the details and only then know that a product is allready sold/sold out.

@elise I don't see @hammerofpompey's request added to the iThemes Exchange Public Roadmap by the way...

Sorry to hijack this thread but the above seems to describe exactly what I want to achieve (simply to display the remaining quantity of each product), but I need a little more information regarding where/how to add the code suggested here. Any help much appreciated.
