I have spent about 9 hours on your website. It's refreshing, inspiring and the quality of information is arguably the best I have ever seen.
I'm sold on Wordpress as the CMS for a our new site. But I have some real challenges ahead as our product has a really large and expanding feature list and each feature needs it's own page containing a headline, video, a short description and a list of features of the feature (if you get my drift). We've been in business for over two years and there is a healthy search volume on every one of our feature keywords so we have to have a page for each feature.
The closest example of the site design and navigation we have in mind can be seen here:
We need a similar nav on every page to the 'A-Z of sports' at the foot of the above page, as the 'top level' feature list needs to be in view on every 'feature page' so as the visitors can see all of the other system features. Notice also on the above page the side nav repeats the 'A to Z' of Sports – Im not sure we need this duplication. But the BBC seem to think necessary so I will test it.
Here are my questions:
1 . Would the Flexx theme be the best choice?
2. How do I easily create and maintain a widget such as the horizontal nav 'A to Z of sports'? Remember the feature list will be expanding on a weekly basis.
3. I'm really worried about losing the SEO on our PR6 site pages – how do I preserve this? Can you point me in the direction of a fail safe strategy/tutorial?
Im almost convinced an iThemes product would be the right choice and if I get the above questions answered, I'll buy,,,,
