I am confused with Stripe.

If someone able to answer the following questions as simply as possible, that would really help me understand better. So far all answers I have read about this have seemed very vague to me.

1) Can I use Stripe immediately with Exchange to accept payments, just by adding my Stripe details in Exchange?

I keep hearing about SSL but I find all explanations on this site quite thin. So do I need SSL or not. If not, does this mean I can use stripe on my website with exchange without any extra work.

2) If I need SSL. What is the best suggestion? How do I do this simply?
i.e. Do I need to use something like mijireh for exchange.

What does mirijeh do for exchange that exchange does not do?
i.e. this comes back to my original question - can I use Stripe in Exchange without having to use a third party for SSL or the hard technical work of getting an SSL certificate, installing this myself and all the tech (read - not for non-techies) that's needed to make Exchange work with Stripe using SSL.

I would really appreciate answers that are straight, as this is the one thing that confuses me with Exchange. So I'd appreciate it if I'm not given a quote from the Stripe site, and someone is able to give straight yes or no answers.

Thanking you in advance.

Hi dmori,

Stripe and Exchange do not require you to have an SSL.  You can simply enter the information from your Stripe account into the Exchange settings and start selling immediately.  Stripe does recommend enabling SSL on your site for increased security, but it is not required.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise
