Hello,

The plugin works great & I think you guys are doing a great job
Thank you

I am testing PayPal Standard - Secure, with PayPal sandbox.

All is working great and I do get everything working:
Going through PayPal
Receiving email notice
& website payment details

The only thing (right now) that I can't seem to wrap my head around is:
How do I approve a payment done with sandbox? so I can see the process through and get a download link to my email?
(that is whats suppose to happen)

& 1 more:
How can I approve a download link skipping payment approval?
Let the buyer download immediately after the paypal has gone through...

Thank you (Ronald, Elise & all the others)

Hi Jud,

You shouldn't have to "approve" the payment, even when using the sandbox mode.  It should work the same as if it weren't in sandbox mode, so it'll "clear" on it's own and the customer should receive their receipt.  If it's not clearing automatically for some reason, you may check with PayPal.

Again, if this isn't happening as it should, I'd recommend checking with PayPal.  If they don't have any answers for you, let me know and I can take a look and see if it's something in your settings.

Thanks,

Elise

Hello Elise and thank you for your reply.

This is whats happening:

PayPal does process the payment but when I am returned to my website this is the state I am in:

The status for this transaction does not grant access to downloadable files. Once the transaction is updated to an appoved status, you will receive a followup email with your download links.

What could be the cause of that???

Thank you.

P.s. where do I register for this forum??

Hi,
I have done several checks just to make sure I am not making any mistake.

The situation remains the same!

I think the issue has something to do with how exchange is dealing with IPN/ PDT.

This is from PayPal developer website:
"IPN provides the same capabilities described above. So, when should you choose PDT instead of IPN?
With PDT, your site is notified immediately when a customer completes payment. With IPN, however, there is a material lag between the time a customer completes payment and the time your site receives notification of this event.
So, use PDT if your site includes a feature that requires immediate payment notification.
For example, consider a digital music store. With PDT, this store can let customers download their purchases right away since PDT sends order confirmations immediately. With IPN, such immediate order fulfillment is not possible."
PP does send a PDT token back.

It looks like it is not processed by the plugin.

Can that be???

Who do I need to talk to about this? you or someone else (before I dig into the code)?

Can you help resolve this?

This could be important to other users of the plugin!

Hey Jud,

If you've purchased any iThemes products, you should have received a username and password with your purchase.  There isn't another way to register for this forum, unfortunately.

I can't seem to replicate the issue you're having.  If I make a purchase using sandbox mode, everything comes through fine.  I even double checked on my purchases page.

So this could be related directly to your PayPal account and how it is set up.  I haven't had anyone else mention this issue either, which of course doesn't mean it isn't a bug, but does make it a little harder to narrow down if it's an issue on our end.  If you could contact PayPal and talk to them about the issue, I'll also bring it up with our developers.

You can go ahead and mark them as approved by going into Exchange > Payments and find that particular payment.  If you click on that payment, it will take you to the Payment Details page.  If the payment shows as pending, you should be able to change the status to paid there.

Thanks,

Elise

Thank you Elise...

Will take it up with PayPal people to see maybe my account is misconfigured.

As for Payments in Exchange...sorry, couldn't find a way to edit/ approve them...
