I want to take a WP site that's in a subdirectory, call it public_html/test/ and move it to the root of the same server, i.e. public_html. There is currently no WP site in the root.
I'm assuming I can do this with Backup Buddy, correct?
When I look at the tutorial videos, it seems like they're instructing me to create a new database. Is that necessary, or can Backup Buddy just make the necessary changes in the existing database? After all, in this case, I'm just moving to a different folder on the same server.
And if I don't need to create a new database, do I just leave blank that section in the Migration admin so it uses the previous database, or do I just fill in the same information (database name, user, password, etc.)?

1. Yes, BackupBuddy can be used to migrate from a subdirectory to the main site.
2. BackupBuddy will want there to be a blank database to import the backed up database into. How it gets blank doesn't matter, so if you want to create a new database that is fine. If you want to wipe the existing database that is already at the destination location then that is fine too and there are some advanced options during the ImportBuddy that can be chosen to help with that.
3. BackupBuddy will want a different database than the one that is backed up and the database information you put in on step 3 of ImportBuddy is the information for the database you are migrating to.
