Hi -

We recently migrated our live and test sites from a shared server to a VPS server and (strangely!) lost styling on all tabber widgets containing 3 columns. I’ve been trying to resolve this on one of the test sites without success. Test site plugins and WP 3.8 are all up-to-date.

The original styling displayed three columns:  left_column = paragraph text, middle_column = embedded code for an online Reader, right_column = Video displayed with VideoShowcase.

Since migrating to VPS the right column displays beneath the middle column. Modifications to margins and widths in style.css have not been successful, so a fresh set of eyes on this would be appreciated!

Thanks -
Jean

Hi Jean,

I only see a 5 column tabber on that page, am I misunderstanding? Can you add a screenshot of what exactly you mean?

thanks
Ronald

Hello Jean,

Adjust your right or left margin on .middle_column to 15px and everything should fall in place.

Please let us know if this helps!

Thanks,

Gerroald

Hi Ron: open the 2nd of the 5 tabs. There are 3 columns within each of tabs 2 through 5.

Hi Gerroald,

The middle column was already set to  "margin: 0 15px 0 15px;" (changed from the original "0 25px 0 25px".) I even tried reducing left_column width to 30% -- no effect.

That's why this is so frustrating. No changes made to the style sheet seem to affect positioning. There is a disconnect somewhere, but can't figure it out. With every CSS modification I verify in CPanel that style.css is updated, in the correct child theme directory.

.tabber_columns {
    float: left;
    display: block;
    margin: 10px 0;
}
.left_column {
    width: 50%;
    float: left;
margin: 10px 0 0 15px;
}
.left_column img {
    padding: 0;
margin: 10px;
}
.middle_column {
    width: 20%;  /* was 23% */
    float: left;
    margin: 0 15px 0 15px;  /* was 0 25 0 25 */
}
.right_column {
    width: 20%;
    float: left;
}

This all used to work perfectly.... Other thoughts?
Thanks again,
Jean

Hey Jean,

It seems they are all lined up correctly now. Did you resolve this? If for some reasons your styles aren't taking, add "!important" to the end of the rule and see if that helps.

Please let me know if you worked this out!

Thanks,

Gerroald

Hi again! Problem solved. "Operator error" as they say. Sorry to have bothered forum admin with this. Am refreshing WP memory after a 2-year WP hiatus .... Consider this resolved. Thanks!
