Hi There!

I'm having a little challenge with the email notification the user gets after paying for a membership and also getting back to the site after paying through PayPal.

I have made a little video to show you and have added some text for you to read also:

Emailed I received after I purchased:

Hello testy,
Thank you for your order. Your order's details are below.
Order: #000545

Product

Quantity

Total Price

Membership test

$1.00
Total
$1.00

Email in General Settings:

Welcome to your account, [it_exchange_customer show="first-name"].
Using the links above, you can edit your profile and view your purchases and products.
Thanks for being a customer.

As you can see they do not say the same thing and the Subject line in my email is:

Receipt for Purchase: #000545

Can this be changed?

Hi Janet,

The "Email in General Settings" that you copied isn't actual an email.  That's the message that appears on your customers Account page.

To edit the emails that your customer receives, go into Exchange > Settings and click the Email Settings tab at the top of the page.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise

ok got that - what is or where can I locate the code that will include their login info and add the login page? Also do you know how to get them from PayPal to the site after paying?
I was logged out of site and was the customer. The emails do not match up and I want to get them back to site after paying.
Thanks!

Hi Janet,

There isn't a code to include log in information.  You can include [it_exchange_email show=username] in your customer's receipt email, but there isn't an option to include their password.  The user will receive an email from WordPress with their username and password.

After they make their purchase through PayPal, the customer should be redirected to your site.

I'm not sure what you mean by the emails do not match.  Did you find the customer receipt email in Exchange > Settings > Email Settings?  The first email you'll find there is the notification email, so the email that you'll receive when a sale is made on your site.  The second one is the one your customer will receive, so you'll want to make your changes there.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise

I got the email problem fixed due to your directions. In the email shortcode it says I can add the login_link (Adds a link to the login page on your website.)
Do I also need to add the http to this and how would that look?
[it_exchange_email show=login_link]

Hey Janet,

Glad you got it figured out!

You don't need to add the http or anything else, just the shortcode [it_exchange_email show=login_link].  That will show the URL in the email receipt.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Elise
