Quick question,

I got a message that my license for BackupBuddy has expired and that I should renew.. but why do I need to renew? Do I need to renew at all? BackupBuddy still works, I am now just missing support or also updates?

Hope you can give me a straight (so no BS) answer on the why..

There is no need to BS you, all the information to answer your question(s) is freely available.

Your one-year membership subscription includes unlimited support and updates for the duration of the membership period. This is detailed on the FAQ page (Frequently Asked Questions) and the Licensing page (Licensing) which is linked from the FAQ also. As your licenses are associated with your membership (for the purposes of automatic updates) all licenses are rescinded at the expiry of your membership regardless of when they were created during the membership period.

You continue to use BackupBuddy as-is for as long as you like as it's operation is independent of licensing - this is also noted in the above linked articles.

Why should you renew? You should renew if you wish to resume access to unlimited updates and support.

As noted in the FAQ and Licensing information there are discounts available for renewing Customers.
