I have an association website I am setting up, which needs to have a protected area. I wanted association members to create their own login (user/password). Down the road, membership to the website will tie into whether they pay their annual dues but for now, I just want a protected area with individual logins.

I reviewed the exchange membership add on and I saw nothing about logins. I'm not clear from reviewing the tutorial if a login is set up or not. How does the membership addon work in that regard? When a 'member' comes to the site, how do they get to the protected content? Don't they need to sign in.

I am having a hard time judging the plugin to fit my needs. Any suggestions would be helpful. I really don't want to purchase the add-on before i know what I can actually do with it.
