Locked Out Of Site

However suddenly yesterday I was unable to log into the site, instead I got a 'site not found error'. No matter what I tried the same eror appeared even entering known backoffice pages into the search engine produced the same result.
Finally I had to contact the hosting company who deactivated all of the pluginsd to see if I could find a conflict. When I tried to reactivate the iThemes Security plugin again I was locked out of the site. The hosting company had the same error produced when they tried to log in. Again all plugins were deactivated and I have activated all but the iThemes Security, I have also just had an update instruction but am unsure about reactivating the plugin in case I am again locked out.
The advice I seek is am I able to get around this problem please as I like the functions of the plugin, I am not able to authorise an upgrade to the Pro version as the charity like most has a lack of funds.
Can someone advise what I should do to get the plugin working again please any help would be appreciated.
