Hi Guys,

The log in logout text isn't changing on our website. It is only display log in, even when the user is logged in.

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

It looks like you have to apply for a membership on the site.  Do you have login and password information for a test account I can use just so I can see this issue in action?  You can PM it to me here on the forum or email it to me at elise@ithemes.com.

Thanks,

Elise

Hey Tim,

Thanks, I see the email now.

It's kind of strange.  I can't replicate the issue on my site.  And when I've, for instance, logged in from the backend of my site then hit the Log In option on the frontend without refreshing, it logs me out and takes me to the Log In page.  When I log in on your site and and then click the Log In link, I'm taken to the profile page and it doesn't log me out.

I'm going to look into it some more and talk to the developers.  I just wanted to keep you in the loop and let you know I'm looking into it.

When I have any additional information for you, I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Elise

Yeah, it has been strange for me to replicate against multiple user accounts.

Thanks for the update Elise.

Do you happen to know where the code that changes the menu link resides? I have been having trouble finding it, but it might help me to figure out what the particular issue could be.

Thanks!
Tim

Hi Elise,

So I've discovered the problem. It has to do with SSL, so the pages are saved as http://, but on the front end, we redirect those pages to ssl, so the check is comparing http://websitename.com/account/log-in/ to https://websitename.com/account/log-in/, which of course aren't the same.

It seems like those checks should be made to ignore the protocol.

Thanks!
Tim

Hi Tim,

Glad you figured out the issue.  I've passed this along to the developers so they can look for a solution.  As soon as I have an update for you, I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Elise
