Hi, I made an add to cart button with Paypal and it works. There are two other buttons showing in grey (from Ithemes exchange) How do I delete these and just use the Paypal buttons?

Hi Joy,

Which buttons is it that you're trying to remove?  The Buy Now and Add to Cart buttons or the payment buttons?

I also just wanted to warn you that, even if you can receive money from PayPal with this customization, if it's not coded properly, it won't inform Exchange about the purchase, meaning maybe it's not included in your sales report, receipt emails aren't sent, etc.  This sort of customization is beyond the scope of the forum, so, if your PayPal button doesn't work properly, or if you run into other issues with Exchange, we won't be able to offer support.

If you can let me know which buttons it is that you're trying to remove, I can help you out.

Thanks,

Elise

Hi Elise,
Thank you for responding. It sounds like I should keep the exchange buttons (they are grey and say buy now and add to cart). If that way is more secure and works best, then I need to know how to remove the paypal yellow add to cart button. The link to one example page is: http://purejoyherbalcreations.com/product/sea-buckthorn-cream/

Hi Joy,

I'd recommend sticking with the Exchange buttons.  That's the only way to guarantee that everything will sync up and work correctly.

If you want to edit the way that those buttons look, you can do so.  For instance, if you want to make them the same color as the background of the price, you can use this code:

input.buy-now-button, input.add-to-cart-button {
background: #acd3a8;
}

You won't want to add CSS directly to Exchange as any changes you make will be overridden.  Read this codex article for more information:  http://ithemes.com/codex/page/Exchange_FAQs:_How_Do_I_Create_Custom_Styles_for_Exchange

As for the PayPal button currently on your site, Exchange doesn't add a PayPal button like that to your site.  I'm not sure how you added it to your site, so I'm not sure how you'd remove it.

Thanks,

Elise
