How To Restore Database From Backup?

I have a problem where a hosting company shut down and I lost the hosting account. I was using BackupBuddy on the site and have a backup. We set up a new hosting account with a different company but now it seems complicated to restore the database using BackupBuddy. There is no way to restore from my remote destination because it doesn't recognize my existing remote destination files (they show up in iThemes but when I tried to connect from within BackupBuddy it seems to want me to start from scratch even though the domain name is the same).

I'm really confused now. I thought this would be easy with BackupBuddy but it doesn't seem to be unless the old site is still available, because then you can create an import buddy file. In my case it is impossible to create such a file, and I can't access the remotely saved files.

I unzipped the backup archive file but it doesn't contain any database element. How can I restore the database from the backup so that comments and posts and WPML data are restored properly?
