Membership Purchase - Use My Registration Page
Posted 10 May 2014 - 06:15 PM
I'm hoping to use a Gravity Form on my Membership registration page. I have the Gravity Forms User Registration addon activated and configured.
In Exchange, on General settings:
I have Customer Registration set to Use WordPress Registration Setting. Default Checkout Form is Registration
On Pages settings:
I have Customer Registration set for WordPress and I have picked MyNewRegistration for the page to use.
But it is using the Exchange registration form rather than the form I want it to use. Is there something I am missing?
my site is http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/product/monthly-subscription/
I want the Registration page to use http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/MyNewRegistration/

I'm going to move this to the Exchange forum as it's not really Membership related.
I can see how this would be confusing. The settings in Exchange > Settings > Pages are only going to affect the actual pages. If you go to the registration page you have set up, you'll see the Gravity Forms registration that you created. Or at least that's what I'm seeing when I go to /MyNewRegistration.
Are you talking about if you register on the actual product page it still shows the Exchange registration? That is the Super Widget registration form, not the page. Even if you set the registration page to show a different form, that doesn't affect the Super Widget.
Let me know if that is the case or not so I can look into it further if I need to.

Thank you for helping me sort it out!
I think I understand...Exchange can't use my Gravity Form as it uses the Exchange Super Widget, correct?
I think I came up with a work-around - which appears complicated but I don't think is too bad from a user experience. If you look at this and geez Sue there is a simpler way, let me know.
First, each protected post will have teaser content with two buttons http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/practice-post/
If they click the button to see membership details, it will take them to a description page http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/details-about-joining/
If they decide to sign up, I will have them first create their account using my Gravity Forms (plus Theme My Login so I can redirect after registration) That way I get exactly the fields I want them to use for creating an account and can skip the Exchange Super Widget Registration form
After creating an account at the registration, Gravity Forms redirects them to the Theme My Login login page http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/login/
Theme My Login redirects to a custom page where they can view content (existing members) or complete the purchase of their new subscription http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/after-login/
To complete the purchase takes them to the store where they pick annual or monthly option. http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/membership-options/
Since they are already registered and logged in, I skip the Exchange Registration and they have just a PayPal button http://thesparkledweb.com/kids/product/monthly-subscription/
Clicking the button takes them to PayPal where they complete the payment.
