Hello -

On this dev site: http://ananda.catswebweave.com/

I would like to have a product category page in the main navigation menu such as this: http://ananda.catswebweave.com/product-category/lessons/

where it displays all the products in that category in a grid, much like the store page: http://ananda.catswebweave.com/store/

When I go to Appearance--> Menus, the option to choose a product category is not there.

Elise, I have emailed you the login credentials so you can check this out.

Thanks!

-Cat

Hi Cat,

Before I take a look, did you test for a plugin conflict as I recommended in your previous post?

Please let me know if you've already tried that and how it went.

Thanks,

Elise

Hi Cat,

If you open the Screen Options tab at the top of the Menus page, you'll see a second Categories option.

Screen Shot 2014-05-16 at 1.42.37 PM.png

When that is checked, the Product Categories option will be in the sidebar.  I've gone ahead and checked it for you, so you should be good to go now.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise

OK great, got it - the Product Category page is still bringing up a 404 not found page:

http://anandavmusic.com/product-category/lessons/

BTW I migrated the site to a new live domain.

Hi Cat,

Do you still have the dev site up?  I'd like to test a couple things and don't necessarily want to mess up your live site.

Let me know if the dev site is still up or if it's okay for me to test on the live site.

Thanks,

Elise

Hi Cat,

It looks like you're using an Extension for the Archive pages.  Unfortunately, Extensions don't work with Exchange at this time.  If you disable the extension for that view, the product category pages display properly.  I've gone ahead and done this on your test site so you can see that it works now.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise

Thanks I removed the view and the extensions from the other page layouts - the product category page is still showing 404 here: http://anandavmusic.com/product-category/lessons/

You have a login on this site (same as the dev site) and it's fine to poke around. We have not announced the live site to the world yet.

Thank you!

Hi Cat,

can you clear the cache plugins cache, and disable the cache plugin, in particular during test and development of the site. Once the site is up and running and stable, and no more changes will be applied, a caching plugin can help, in all other cases, such as these, it will just cause confusion,

It may or may not resolve the issue, but in general, don't use caching while developing,

Ronald
