1 - Is it possible to have a user pay for a  product ( membership one time payment ) and a donation to a fund in one visit and one payment to PayPal?
This would be a form with choices listed and a button.

2 - Is it possible to have a user pay for a subscription ( annual renewal of said membership) and a donation to a fund with one payment to PayPal?

The closest i can come is two forms and two visits, with the second form filled out with the data from the first form, and have the user visit PayPal twice.
In the case of a subscription, the user cannot pay for it unless they have a PayPal account.
Is there a more efficient way of doing either of the two or both scenarios above?
thanks for any suggestions/help.

Hi Ed,

You could use the Customer Pricing add-on, then set the minimum price to the price of the membership, then they can select to pay more than that if they want to.  For instance, if the membership is $59.99, you can then either set prices for them to select from ($59.99, $69.99, $79.99, etc.), let them name their own price with the minimum allowed price being $59.99, or both.

The thing to remember about Recurring Payments is that if it is an automatically recurring payment, they will be charged the exact same amount every month/year.  So they can't add an automatically recurring item to their shopping cart.  And if you use the Customer Pricing option and they chose to add a donation amount, they will be charged that same amount each month.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise

Where can I change the default wording "Name your price!" ? I would like to soften the language slightly.

Hi nadworks,

If you go into Exchange > Add-ons and click the gear symbol next to the Enable button for the Customer Pricing add-on, you'll be able to change that in the plugin's settings.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Elise
