Matt, thanks! this was so clear & helpful. I do have one question. Is there a way to remove the Subject and message field? so:

if your subject line just says: Sign up for future updates, and you don't want anything but their email address for your update list - the user doesn't see anything but the subject line and Name & E-mail fields?

<h4 class="widget-title">signup for future updates</h4>
<a name="contactbuddy-1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"></a>
    <li class="contactbuddy-name-label">Name:</li>
    <li class="contactbuddy-name-input"></li>
    <li class="contactbuddy-email-label">Email:</li>
    <li class="contactbuddy-email-input"></li>

thanks again,

Karen

woopsie!

http://amagansettauthors.com/final-widgets/

bottom of the page - and btw - now even when i apply the "Skinny" style it won't apply.

but that's not so important.

I'd just love to get rid of the bottown 2 fields.
