Hi,

I ran this test on my website with serverbuddy to check for any issues for backupbuddy. If haven't installed it backupbuddy yet, i'm thinking about buying it. So I was just checking for any potentional issues with my server.

Serverbuddy shows all green except for the "PHP ZipArchive Class Reachable". Its gives a yellow warning. It that a real problem that will prevent backupbuddy from running? If so, how would I be able to fix it?

Thanks!

The only problems you could have with a warning on "PHP ZipArchive Class Reachable" would be with importing.

Here is a link to a list of requirement and recommendations in the backupbuddy codex

http://ithemes.com/codex/page/BackupBuddy

If you ask your host about having the things on that list then backupbuddy should work great.

If you don't mind me asking who is your host?

Thanks for the answer. The host i'm using is Mediatemple, its on one of the gridservers.

I think its this line that the "PHP ZipArchive Class Reachable" is referring to then from the requirements?
Linux: Command-line zip installed and accessible

I'll try to login with putty to the server and see if I can zip something from the command line. If that works then I think it should all be fine :)

I talked with another person I run support with and the only issues with using backupbuddy on media temple gridservers is that it is setup with php4 by default.

The good news is there is a line you can add to your .htaccess file that will change it to php5.

If you have any other questions please let us know, have a good day.

I'm using MediaTemple and attempting my first restore after backing up with BackupBuddy. I get the following error.

Attempting high speed extraction (normal mode) ... Failed.

Falling back to slower method.

Attempting medium speed extraction (compatibility mode: ZipArchive) ...

http://propelleracademy.com/importbuddy.php?ezimg=bullet_error.png
Mediumspeed extraction failed. ZipArchive is not available as this
server's PHP wasn't compiled with the --enable-zip. See if your host is
able to update PHP with this option.. Falling back to slower mode to try
again.

Failed.

Falling back to slower method.

Attempting low speed extraction (compatibility mode: PCLZip) ...

-----

I know I'm running the correct version of PHP...from phpinfo()...

PHP Version 5.2.14

Linux n17 2.6.33.1mtv4 #1 SMP Fri Apr 8 10:06:54 PDT 2011 i686

and have customized the php.ini to include the following...

; Increase execution time
max_execution_time = 300
memory_limit = 128M
disable_functions =

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim Cimbura
