Web Design 101: Learning the Basics

By Cory Miller • October 14, 2008

For the better part of my career, I’ve been in the print design arena, working with several newspapers and doing a lot of layout. It was only after using WordPress for my personal blog that I started to dabble with web design more seriously.

Using WordPress, plus Firefox browser and the add-on Web Developer Toolbar, made my transition into web design relatively painless as well as fast. (See our WordPress Developer Toolkit for links and resources for using WP in web design.)

So we thought we’d save you some grief and do a Web Design 101 report that you would give you some basic ideas, concepts and resources to make your own transition into web design, regardless of where you’re coming from.

It’s written for print designers seeking to make the transition, but the concepts are there for almost anyone.
