This morning, we were delighted to host a very special guest — Oklahoma’s Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb.
Lt. Gov. Lamb stopped by to talk with us about our 3-plus year-old, Oklahoma City-based company, learn about what we do, how we are adding jobs and revenue in our state and to meet our team. In his role as lieutenant governor, he was charged by the Governor to be the “small business advocate” and we are proud to get this official visit from him.
It is no secret that we are extremely proud to be an Oklahoma-based tech company. I started this business in my home-office in January 2008 and today we’ve grown to 22+ team members (most of whom are based in Oklahoma), 4 brands, 130+ themes, 20+ plugins, and more than 250+ hours of professional web design training.
As a native Oklahoman, I believe this state has many benefits to starting a business, and we are excited to work with Lt. Gov. Lamb to help give back to our community and state and enhance its reputation as a great place to live and work. (In fact, we want to see Oklahoma become a tech startup hub in OKC. Check out a lightning talk called Silicon Pasture I did at SXSW this year.)
Anyway, below is a photo of me talking about some new projects we’re working on at iThemes with Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb.
