Threads, A New Builder Child Theme For T-Shirt Shops, Available Now

Need to build an online t-shirt shop on WordPress? Well, you’re in luck! The Theme Team just released a new feature-rich responsive-ready Builder Child Theme, Threads.

Threads is designed to integrate exclusively with Shopp, our favorite ecommerce plugin for WordPress. We really wanted to highlight all of the great features Shopp provides by creating a theme that showcases the possibilities of WordPress ecommerce.

To see Threads in action, check out the Threads demo site here.

Shopp-Specific Styles

Threads includes 15+ Shopp-specific styled templates so you’ll have one consistent look across the theme and ecommerce portions of the site. The template files included in Threads provide styles for these specific Shopp functions (just to name a few):

  • products (individual, grid, list, etc.)
  • cart
  • account
  • catalog
  • checkout
  • errors
  • receipt

Product Views

Threads includes styled product views for both grid and list views (as seen on the Shop page of the demo).

Individual product views also include a custom Colorbox style when you click to view the product image and a hover-zoom effect.

Option to Add Cart to Navigation (in Builder Settings)

Threads includes the ability to add a cart button to your naviation menu from the Builder Settings page (from the WordPress dashboard, visit My Theme > Settings).

Once you’ve enabled this feature from Builder Settings, the cart button will be added to the end of the navigation menu, floated right. When the cart is empty, the cart text will display Empty with a link to the shop.

When the cart has items, the cart text shows the number of items (e.g. 3 Items) in the cart with a link to the cart page. Also, hovering over the cart button (when items are in the cart) will show the current items in the cart as a submenu.

HTML Module Callout Style

Easily display coupons, sales and alerts by using Threads’ Red Callout Html Module style (as seen here on the home page of the demo site).

To take advantage of this feature, visit My Theme > Layouts and Views and add an HTML module to your Builder Layout.

(And just FYI, we used this code in the HTML module on the front-page of the demo site):

So, enjoy! Threads has been automatically added to the iThemes Member Panel for all Builder Developer Pack, All Access Theme Pass and Toolkit members. Threads is also available as a stand-alone Builder child theme, too.
