#SecurityChat – Second Twitter Chat July 9 at 11am CDT

We’re hosting another Twitter Chat on July 9th at 11am CDT. We’ll be talking WordPress Security again, using the hashtag #SecurityChat.

We’re lucky enough to have a moderator well versed in WordPress Security, Chris Wiegman. He’ll be answering the tough questions and providing tips and best practices.

The iThemes Twitter account will post the questions and Chris will provide feedback from his twitter account.

What is a Twitter Chat?

A Twitter Chat is a conversation taking place on Twitter tied together by a hashtag. In our case, we’re using the hashtag #SecurityChat. The host account will post questions using the hashtag, so if you’re following the hashtag you’ll be able to see them and interact.

How Can I Participate?

Anyone can reply with an answer or other comments, just be sure to use the hashtag so everyone following along will see your comments.

Here’s the format we’ll use for our Twitter Chat. iThemes will tweet something like:

  • Q1: What kind of cat do you have? #CatChat

You can answer something like this:

  • A1: I have a Siamese cat! They are my favorite! #CatChat

“A1” stands for Answer 1, indicating you’re answering “Q1” or Question 1. The same format will be used for Q2, Q3 and so on.

Following the chat in your Twitter client can be confusing, but tools like TweetChat make it a lot easier.

Can I Win Stuff?

The answer is YES! We will be giving away iThemes Security t-shirts as well as other fun swag items.

One lucky #SecurityChat participant will win a year of iThemes Security Pro and all of its awesomeness.
