It’s a day when we give much deserved respect to our veterans and soldiers.
But the rest of the year our veterans need our respect and support as well. Coming home from battle is a battle in itself. Nearly 200,000 American veterans are unemployed and fighting for the benefits they’ve earned. Every day 22 veterans give in to the despair and take their own lives.
So we’re proud to support the work of Happy Joe, not just today but every day. Founded by our longtime friend James Dalman, Happy Joe is a nonprofit working to train and deploy veterans in web design and development.
They’re teaching veterans WordPress. How awesome is that?
Happy Joe also goes beyond WordPress, training our troops in HTML, CSS, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Photoshop and more. They mentor veterans and help them do more than just code, but figure out how to land jobs or launch their own businesses.
It’s a powerful way to help veterans readjust to civilian life. In a day and age when so many veterans are struggling, we couldn’t be more thrilled to join with Happy Joe and support our troops.
So let’s say thank you to our veterans today. Give ’em a high five.
