We’re proud to announce that we’ve partnered with our friends at Sucuri to bring you new, improved malware scanning in iThemes Security and iThemes Security Pro. To take advantage of this update, you’ll need to be running iThemes Security 5.0 or iThemes Security Pro 1.18.
Malware Scanning for Your WordPress Site Now Powered by Sucuri SiteCheck
iThemes Security now uses Sucuri SiteCheck to power the malware scanning feature within the plugin. Sucuri SiteCheck uses a 10-point site check to scan your site for known malware, blacklist status, website errors and out-of-date software.
To start using Malware Scanning in iThemes Security, visit the Settings tab. From the dropdown menu, select Malware Scanning.
From the Malware Scanning section, click the Scan Homepage for Malware button.
Sucuri SiteCheck will go to work and then give you the results of the malware scan. You can also view the results from the Logs page.
Get Scheduled Malware Scanning & Email Notificationspro
The free version of iThemes Security allows you to manually run malware scans on the homepage of your site. With iThemes Security Pro, you enable daily malware scanning and receive an email if a problem is found.
To turn on scheduled malware scans and email notifications in iThemes Security Pro, visit the Pro tab. From here, you can enable malware scan scheduling and select which users should get an email if an issue is found during a malware scan. You can also view the details of your malware scan report from the Logs tab.
