The latest version of iThemes Security Pro (2.6.0) puts a new emphasis on the importance of using WordPress two-factor authentication for all user logins on your WordPress site.
Once two-factor authentication is enabled from the iThemes Security Pro dashboard, or by using the one-click WordPress Security Check within the plugin, users will see a reminder notice to activate two-factor on their user profile after their next login.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication For Your WordPress Login with the iThemes Security Pro Plugin
Two-factor authentication can be activated from the Security > Settings page in the iThemes Security Pro dashboard.
Click the Configure Settings button. From this modal, we recommend enabling all two-factor authentication providers. These options will be passed along to individual users as their two-factor authentication provider options.
Users Can Configure Two-Factor Settings from the Profile Page
Once two-factor authentication is enabled site-wide, users can configure their individual two-factor authentication settings. To configure two-factor authentication for your user, visit the Profile page. From here, you can select your two-factor authentication options, such as the provider.
Once two-factor settings have been configured, users will then have to use a secondary code sent to their mobile device or email to login.
